Monthly Reading Goals

Today the students set reading goals for September. The students are to pick Accelerated Reader book (s) to read for each month.  After they read a book they are to do a quiz.  Each Accelerated Reader book is point valued.  If they pass the quiz they attain certain points.  The students also choose books that are at their book level.  They also set goals each month at attain a certain book level. 

We will be doing this each month until June.

Introduction of Students to Mr. Baetz

The students are to introduce themselves to me in a writing assignment.  This is due September 21th.  It is to be 400-600 words and is to include the following:

Title Page   (with picture)         /5 marks

Outline                                      /5 marks


Grammar/ Punctuation              /5

Presentation                              /5
(neatness and engaging)
On time                                     /5  (Each day it is late the students will lose a mark)

Total                                        /25

Welcome to Grade 6

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the new school year.   I am looking forward to be your child’s teacher this year.  This will be my 8^th year at the Saskatoon Christian School and I thoroughly enjoy teaching especially this age level.  

Our class has a blog that I regularly add to.  The students memorize the address and I would ask that you bookmark this web page so that our class has good and efficient communication.
